We are ideally located in the quiet residential west cliff area famous for the whale bone arch and Captain Cook monument. Although situated in a quiet area of town it is conveniently close to all that Whitby has to offer.

Just a 2/3 minute stroll will bring you to shops, bars, restaurants, the harbour, beach, Whitby Pavilion and Whitby’s many other attractions.

A 2/3 minute stroll to Whitby Leisure Centre which boasts a state of the art Fitness Suite, two swimming pools, Sports Hall and outdoor pitches. Many children’s activities are arranged during school holidays

A lovely picturesque stroll through woodland &/or the Esk Valley will take you to Ruswarp with riverside cafes, rowing boat hire, miniature railway and pub with a beer garden overlooking the railway line and river. Another ideal day out for the whole family without moving the car.

From our doorstep you can explore the coastal paths of the Cleveland Way, passing through many nearby picturesque villages including Sandsend, Robin Hoods Bay, Staithes and Runswick Bay.

A 5 minute walk will take you to the cinder track which follows the route of the old Scarborough-Whitby railway line which was laid on cinders rather than the usual crushed stone. The line opened in 1885 and closed in 1965 and the route provides 21 miles of fascinating coast and countryside to explore on foot, horseback or by bike. It passes through eight old station stops and there are plenty of places to enjoy a drink and bite to eat on route. Bike hire is available close by.

A 5 minute stroll will take you to Whitby’s beautiful Blue Flag Beach and colourful Beach Huts which are available to rent on a daily basis. The beach stretches for over 2 miles to Sandsend which is an ideal playground for all the family with the beck providing safe paddling and boating for children of all ages, whilst the pubs and beachfront cafes seem to attract the adults.

A short car/bus journey will take you into the beautiful North Yorkshire moors national park and Dalby Forest.

A 10 minute walk to “The Turnbull”, the home of Whitby Town AFC.

A 2/3 minute stroll to Pannett Park with its beautiful landscaped gardens, wooded areas and an exciting new play park for children. The park is also home to Whitby Museum & Art Gallery which compliments the Captain Cook Museum in town.

A 5 minute drive to Whitby Golf Club

A 10 minute walk to Whitby railway station from which departs the North Yorkshire Moors Steam railway where you can enjoy the thrill of the old steam railway whilst taking in some of the finest scenery in Yorkshire. Trains call at a number of pretty villages where there are country walks and not forgetting quaint country pubs a plenty. The route includes Grosmont (home to the steam engine sheds), Goathland (Famous for the bewitching Hogsmeade station in Harry Potter and Addensfield in Heartbeat), Newtondale Halt (only accessible by train, mountain bike or on foot), Levisham and Pickering.
